*cracks an evil grin....het-het-het-het*

You're sure you have no questions concerning combat? Razz

You're wrong with Question 2 Very Happy

As an heavy armor decreases the DR, using DefMode Dodge won't increase your DR [or anyway not much in the case you've got a high Defense Skill value], and will leave you unable to fight.

Razz

No, that's Dodge Razz
Parry increases your DR using your current weapon's skill, and halves your Attack bonus.

still need to answer question 1 Razz

Sharpness is the value that divides target's armor.
For example a Sharpness 3 would divide by 3 the AR of your target.

Question 3:

3 [naughty] Grundak charge you, what is the best tactic in this situation?

Well well well ..Razz

Damage Bonus are damage that apply whether the target is armored or not, and go through natural and magical armors.
So you always deal those damage. [Note that if your total damage is still under target's armors, you won't damage your target]

Sharpness reduces target's armor, that way you can deal much more damage...but! if your target is not wearing an armor [or even wearing something light], it is useless Razz

****

And there is no class here!! Razz
You can turn your character into whatever you want! Razz

Both are useful Very Happy

But Damage Bonus weapons are uncommon, because only legendary weapons and magically enhanced ones have those.

Parry is maybe not the right way Razz That would depend of your character.

It is important to know your opponent. A Grundak is a humanoid creature, usually stronger than the average human. They like big weapons, and are usually wearing light armor made of hide or leather. They are quite stubborn and will often stand and fight.

So, you already know that Grundak have a high Damage Modifier due to their strength. [usually +6].
Their Size and Stamina give then a bunch of HPs.
They are turned to war and are not that bad with weapons. [their weapon skills range from 30 to 50%]

If your character is an average one in combat, one on one with a Grundak means death for you. Because they will usually manage to hit and deal lots of damage.
If you chose to Dodge ...erh...Dodge is useless unless you got a friend with you.
If you Parry, you better have a high value in your weapon skills and not wearing an armor that reduces your DR too much.
Either way, if you don't kill the Grundak swiftly, he will certainly kill you.
If you are wearing an heavy armor, you better choose DefMode None, stand and fight.
Just pray that the Grundak is not wielding an axe Razz [they love axes!]

But the best solution would be to run for the hills! Razz

I tested a combat with a Darakhul wearing Darakhul Plate armor [AR 18/14/14/16/16] and helm [AR 6], wielding a Darakhul heavy axe [Dam 18, Sharp 2]...
75% in Axes, DM +6, around 36Hps.

I charged 3 Grundak [DefMode None], I got killed Razz [But they got lucky hit at the head where it is not much armored Razz]

I charged 12 human soldiers, I killed them all Razz

12 soldiers I told you! Razz

Yes, number is very important.

For example, you can [almost] easily defeat 3-4 Ork...but when they are 10 or more, that is an issue Razz
