Seems that you have the same problem with ideas like me, and i know how frustating can be...

Well, i try that the names evoques something about the concept (for important things, i mean), and you can have lots of inspiration from here:

For a goddess of winter, Adelheidis.
For a some sort of princess, Ericea or Similce.
Snáruk for something strong, big and evil.
Adros, for some nice guy.
Servos, for a not so nice guy.
Ahm-Sereth, for a desert thing in the Thousand Mirrors desert owned by some evil sorceror named Semontis.

Well, I don´t know how the names might sound in english, but in spanish tongue are very inspiring.

Ronan is a chaotik neutral deity, he is a litle bit Whimsical , and make only what he want. hes priest can ask him day and night. He wont re-lay them, except when they offer him a woman.

On a side note, the spell system will have spells from lvl1 to lvl9? I think that might be better to finish the base of all your custom things and expand it later (i mean, 2 or 3 spells with the ingredients, the areas nearing players location, etc.).
Oh, if you need some other help just tell me, (i see you have resolved the feat issue already).

No, spells range from level 1 to level 6.
Runic and Mana spells have no level however.

Runic Magic depends of the combination of Runes you use. It is actually a powerful magic, yet the requirements are quite high. I haven't worked on that part for now.

Mana Magic uses the Mana attribute all living beings possess. But you need to learn the spells [means that they can't be copied or read from a book, scroll, nor that they can be put on items].
Techniques and a range of abilities use Mana as well.


About technical help.
If you are up to work on NPC's AI, that's great Very Happy
My current big issue with NPC AI is to find a way to trigger something when they are out of ammo.
I tried a few things, but all failed.

The runes will have common names like Earth, Water, etc or fantasy ones like Uzhg, Tal or *insert another name here*?
Might be interesting if players can deduce powers, like Earth rune + Fire rune = Vulcano power/spell.

i´m not very good scripter, but a heartbeat script checking the ammo slots? or maybe you can put a counter in a script under onattack event with the number of quantity ammo, and with every shoot count as -1 and if it is <= 0, reload, equip melee weapon or anything else.
There is no onattack event, so maybe oncombatRound.

Yes, Runes will have fantasy names.
And indeed players would have to find out the effect associating a rune with another.

The brewing potion system i'm planning on should work the same way, where you can put different ingredients together for different effects.

OnHeartbeat event is not possible, because it fires every 6 seconds. A NPC could be out of ammo in the meanwhile and would switch to melee.

I worked on the OnCombatRoundEnd event, but i did not receive good results.

And there is no OnAttack event, otherwise I would be happy Very Happy
That's the thing lacking in NWN engine, and the key to complete my custom combat system.

I'll make another attempt, you gave me a good idea anyway. Very Happy

In fact there's still an issue...though it's working better than before.

I took the same weapon system I created for USCM and improved it.
But it remains the same where you got Ammo Bulks, and ammo you can use with a weapon.

When a NPC had at least 1 usable ammo left [that's the idea i had when you talked about counting ammo Razz] because before I was checking only if the NPC had no ammo.

But that's the issue i still have now...even with bulks in the inventory, when the NPC has no usable ammo, the NPC doesnt want to reload.

I wrote down some more code, and made it work, but in that case, the NPC turn every bulk into ammo.
I made even some more code to avoid that and check other things, but I still end up with the NPC unwilling to reload and often stuck with the ranged weapon in hand.

I think I will keep the working part, even if that means allowing the NPC to get lots of usable ammo.

I understand now.
Then, to avoid the "out of ammo" problem you have made now a check w to convert bulks to ammo, but converts all bulks; are you using a loop? maybe when the script finds bulk, convert it into ammo and set some variable like "bulk_finded" inside the loop to return in the next bulk check.
